Let’s meet Sofie Bennekers, a creative & art director, brand and designer based in Amsterdam. Sofie is the founder of Purple and Hazel, a clothing brand with the comfiest essentials. She is also the creative director and researcher of View Publications, a publisher creating tools to help the creative industry progress and evolve.
T. What is the best thing to do on your free day?
S. I really love to work, but this year I also want to prioritise balance in my life. Scheduling time for things that make me feel good like exploring new restaurants/places, reading, moving my body, spending time with family and friends.
T. What’s something an outsider wouldn’t guess about your industry?
S. That Creative direction is such a broad concept and can be anything different for everyone, I really enjoy being able to flow between different roles.
T. Who has had the biggest impact on your career?
S. The people around me who support me, celebrating and debating life together. I also love to talk to people who inspire me on a creative level, business level or their mindset.
T. What do you enjoy most about your current job?
S. Freedom is my number one goal in life and I am happy to say that I feel that way, time wise and creatively. I also love progress, to meet people in the creative industry and to keep learning from every project.
T. Which of your personality traits are you most proud of?
S. Honesty and positivity 🙂
T. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
S. I am still searching for the ultimate place, but for now I would say Amsterdam combined with lots of travelling.
T. How would your 15-year-old self react to what you do now?
S. Surprised myself that life can be this good.
